Dealersays Alfa Warranty does not cover batteries after the third year. The battery is 2 1/2 years old and is a an Alfa/Varta replaced under warranty by previous owner. Alfa should fit 95 AH AGM batteries in the first place IMHO otherwise car not fit for purpose. Feel like taking them to the Small Claims Court but will now refer back to Alfa
Ihave a MY2018 Stelvio TI I bought in March 2018 with a build date of Oct17 and the Varta battery has never been a problem. I live in Las Vegas and the heat here kills batteries, which usually last only 2-3 years on average. The general consensus on the forum for replacement batteries seems to be the Interstate MTX-49/H8 or Mopar BBAH
Thestandard battery was a dealer-installed replacement for the OEM battery. It was a Mopar part# BBoH8800AC. AR agreed that it was the wrong battery and installed an Interstate MTX-49-H8 Absorbent Glass Matt (AGM) battery. AR and the dealer told me that an AGM battery was the correct replacement for the OEM Varta battery.
